I was also dilated at 4.5 cm for 4 weeks prior. I was at 6cm when I got to the hospital.
@Brianne how bad were your contractions before your water broke?? Or did you not have any?
I woke up to my water broke. Didn't really have any painful contractions for 30-40 minutes. But I had preterm labor at 32 weeks that's why I was so dilated. And she's my only in ei has spontaneous rupture with. My first daughter they broke my water at about 5cm in the hospital. And with my 3rd my son. They broke it at about 6 cm and I was on pitocin so they made everything pretty intense.
Is this your first baby?
3 days with my first with waters breaking in a few parts on day 2 and 3. Was so long and slow. 3 hours after that got that quick with my second, with waters breaking after 2 hours of them being that quick and baby out within another hour
I had contractions that were 5 minutes apart for the better part of 4 days. I went the first day and they told me to come back when I started feeling pain. Day 4 came and I had a little pain got to the hospital at 11pm. They wanted to send me home after an hour because I’d only dilated 1/2cm I asked to stay another hour and dilated to 4 1/2. They admitted me at 1:30am. Contractions still weren’t horrible I was walking and talking through them. At 3ish I was in noticeable discomfort according to my nurse. Around 4:30 they checked I was at 10cm but my water hadn’t broken. It broke with my first push and I had her at 4:55am
With my first I'd been having pains the night before but thought they were Branxton hicks my waters broke at 6am I started having close contractions around 7am and went to the hospital around 9am he was born at 11:06pm, second my waters broke at 32+1 weeks she was born at 33+2 weeks my contractions started a week to the day after my waters broke at 7pm she was born at 8:26am the next day and with my third I was induced they broke my waters at 6am(I think I was quite tired and a bit out of it thanks to the epidural) regular contractions started at 10:30am and he was born at 2:40pm
at least 6 hours, if i remember correctly. my water didn’t break until i was about to start pushing, almost 24hrs after i started early contractions
@Brianne oh this is my second baby. My first came at 39 weeks and I was 3cm when I got to the hospital and gave birth 7 hours later. I’m 35 weeks currently so I went to the hospital two days ago bc I was having contractions 5min apart but they sent me home since I was only 1cm. I’ve been having mild contractions on and off since then but today they’re now beginning to feel a bit more intense. This pregnancy is just so different compared to my first 🙄
Waters broke first. My contractions didn’t start for around 8 hours and baby was born 37.5 hours after they broke
Water broke 8:30pm on a Monday, contractions 3-5 mins apart 4am Tuesday morning, bub born 12:11pm that day
With my first, I had 2 waters. The first they broke and the main one broke after I had my first "urge to push" contraction while I was laboring in the tub. I got out and went to pee and I did but then water broke on the toilet. My son came less than 20 min later. With my 2nd my contractions were very strong and close together for about an hour or 2 (every min or 2 I was having a contraction) but water hadn't broke. I let doc break it at 4:18 and had my girl at 4:40am.
I went from 0 to birth in 1.5hr. I went in at 5cm then he was out half time after that.
About 12 hours and then my waters broke and babe came quick!

With the first I went from nothing to giving birth within 2hrs 5mins, with my second it was nothing to birth in 1 and a half hours. Contractions started painful, strong and within 1-2 minutes of each other straight away. I was 9cm dilated by the time I got to the hospital with my first, 6cm by the time I got to the hospital with my second.
With my second my water broke around 6-7 am I got to the hospital at 8:05 and she was born at 8:36
