Sometimes yes. I’m high risk so I have a lot of doctors notes for restrictions that they have to follow but there are still a few things daily I wish they’d use their heads about. They’ve been piling the patients on me even though they know I only have a few weeks left and have been reminded if I can’t sign off orders and charts before I’m out the patients will have to be seen again but it doesn’t seem to phase them. So I think I’m more frustrated because I work for veterans and I see how their lack of accommodations is going to affect that veterans who already have such a hard go of it in our healthcare system.
@Aimee my work is doing the same thing. Piling work on me, even though I should be starting to give it to someone else to learn/cover for me when I’m away. I’m still working and I don’t use my pregnancy as an excuse but a little understanding would be appreciated ugh.
Totally understand. I feel the worst for my veterans who will have to come back and redo their exams because I couldn’t sign off on them.
Ha I have the same issue with work being piled on. I thought I was alone in that. Do you all work on health care?
Agreed. I work retail and am high risk and on my feet most of the day. Luckily my co-workers are super accommodating mostly because they all have been in my shoes. Take it easy at work. Depending on what state you live in, many employers must make accommodations for pregnant women!
I feel the same way and agree. Its hard
tell me about it the person over my boss wants him to terminate me becaude apparently im bot moving fast enough mind you im 8 months pregnant there’s laws tho so if anything make sure you have them know thats discriminating they cant tell you quit because thats how you make your money and plus your bearing child
@Monica I’m in healthcare, yes.
100000000000000%. I work from home and my job/company is SO demanding and it’s extremely male-dominated, very “bro” culture, and none of them understand what it’s like working while pregnant (WITH A TODDLER!). Thank God my director is the kindest man ever, he’s also a dad, he has catered to me so much and helped carry as much of the burden as possible. It’s the rest of the company and leadership that are all nightmares.
I work a sit down job that can be done from home if needed so I’m okay with my work expecting me to perform to the same standards as everyone else. However if I had a job that required me to move around a lot like healthcare, retail or daycare I would absolutely expect some accommodations from my work. Those of you on your feet for many hours a day I don’t know how you do it! I’m in awe of your perseverance!
I don’t get annoyed that they expect me to do my job necessarily because, well I’m still working, however, I’m in payroll and it’s year end and it’s absolutely exhausting. I’m putting in 7-10 extra hours a week and being 34 weeks pregnant isn’t fun while doing so lol I wish they had more empathy for me 😂
I drive an hour to work in South Florida and that’s on a good day. Now that we are in season with all the snowbirds back, sometimes my commute is 3+ hours for the round trip. My job has zero maternity benefits and I can’t make the drive anymore. I am literally starting to fall asleep while driving so now I have to have a conversation with my director. HR already told me I can get a total of 15 unpaid medical leave days then we have to “unfortunately part ways.” The US sucks when it comes to motherhood and they wonder why the birth rate is dropping.
I work at a daycare and am high risk so they try to accommodate me based off of doctors notes but staffing is sometimes an issue 😅
