Anyone find these first few weeks until seeing a midwife weirdly lonely? Women go through their absolute worst in the first 12 weeks and we're left isolated. You are debilitated and have a higher chance you could miscarry...yet we're told to basically ride it out. Thank goodness these apps and forums were created what would we have done!

I hated it, that’s why I booked few private scans just to make sure baby was ok until the appointments started.

I told my nearest and dearest when found out at 5 weeks. Booked a private scan for 8 weeks and went from there. This time of your pregnancy is the most wonderful, joyous, nerve wracking and most scary time. You need a support system around you for the good times and the bad. Don’t ride it out alone xx

It's awful. The whole thing around it is pure misogyny- they just want you to crack on and do your work, suffer in silence, especially if you miscarry and are in pain physically and emotionally. Like you should be ashamed. There's also no health advice offered, which is ridiculous. If you're young and inexperienced, don't have a great support network or know who to ask, there's a lot you won't know or understand about early pregnancy.
