I haven’t lost my hair line yet but I notice a lot of hair falling out and I’ve started to hair oil in the hopes it will bring my hair back to life! Could you ask for a blood test? Heard it could be associated with thyroid but mines fine apparently xx
@Charlotte that is my plan for the appointment next week to ask for bloods because it is insane how quickly it is falling out. If I touch my head I get a handful of hair. Also I know that raising a toddler is tiring but the level of exhaustion I feel is next level. I struggle to stay awake of I sit down on the floor with her for longer then 5 mins. I am just so tired all the time so I can't help but feel it is all connected somehow
@Kaveri don't be like me and think it will sort itself out. Try and get an appointment or something before you reach the stage I'm in. My family and I have actually started the discussion of wigs already and I only noticed the hair loss really at the start of December. I hope your hair comes back quickly and you get some resolution for it all
I’m similarly experiencing significant hair loss still my hair has thinned drastically. Finally went GP in November two main issues were fatigue and hair loss. I was tested for various things and it came back with low iron and vitamin d which I have since started taking regularly. Still experiencing hair loss though but it has slightly improved. Definitely push for bloods all your vitamins your liver kidney function thyroid. Really hope you get some answers it’s horrible.
I had severe hair loss and exhaustion when my ferritin levels were low. The GP did tests for iron as a whole but not ferritin and it was missed. I got it checked overseas and got meds for it and saw marked improvement
Definitely the GP for blood tests, could be low thyroid or iron. I was losing hair at the front middle part about six months ago, but it could have been to stress plus having a low thyroid issue linked to post birth. Things have calmed with extra vitamins like iron, kelp, selenium, magnesium/vit d. Try also natural remedies like rice water, steam treatments, Jamaican castor oil depending on your hair type as it can be heavyweight.
Thanks everyone. So I had the doctors last week and convinced someone to take bloods. They literally tested for everything under the sun. Turns out I have severe malnutrition (deficient in Iron, Folate, zinc and calcium) and reduced liver function due to Coeliac Disease. Fingers crossed in a few weeks I start to feel human again and in time my hair will grow back but we are giving it until the end of the month to see if the shedding stops to see if a wig is needed until I get things under control. Thanks everyone that pushed me to insist on getting blood tests done
Hi, I am currently experiencing the same problem. And yes with me also, it happened suddenly. Although my hairline is not receding yet but I have noticed that every time I untie my hair, there is a bunch of hair strands on my hair tie. I have stopped brushing my hair coz that makes things worse. Haven’t been to the GP yet but I think they will have the same answer. I am using over the counter products for hair loss (dunno how effective they will be) and have stopped washing my hair on a daily basis.
