This is going to probably sound like a silly question but do I need to speak with my doctor before having sex after giving birth? I gave birth at the end of September and I had an episiotomy which has healed. Thanks in advance

I didn’t but that’s only because my doctors refused to see me. I waited the 6 weeks to be on the safe side and continued as normal x

If it's been that long it's probably fine - I waited til my 6-8 week checkup to get the okay but if you feel fine I'd say to go for it

If you’re feeling ready, go for it and take it very slow, lots of foreplay.Make sure your partner understands that this might be exploratory the first few times and that you may have to stop or find other ways to satisfy each other.
