Solids and milk

My baby is almost 7.5 months old and has 2x meals a day. We use the Ellas kitchen pouches. Sometimes she'll have some snacks during the day but nothing big. We've just dropped 1 bottle so she has 3x8oz Today she's only had 19oz of formula (550ml) Her schedule is Bottle-7 Breakfast -10 Lunch - 12 Bottle - 3 Bottle - 6 The times can change dependant on naps etc but does that look about right?

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure they should still be having the same amount of milk as before they started solids. Milk needs to be their main source of nutrition until 1.

@Jess yeah I've read that milk still needs to be their main source but also read they need to start having 3x meals a day by 8-9 months so surely they wouldn't be having the same amount x

Yeah it’s really contradicting isn’t it! I have also read to aim for 3 meals by 12 months? 🫣 maybe ask your health visitor? My baby is 7 months and I’ve actually just reduced back to 1 meal and a snack because her milk dropped x

@Jess yeah I asked my hv cause my girl was only have 3oz of the bottle we've just dropped so she said drop it and replace with another meal. X

I might try adding it in to her meals where I can. She usually has porridge and I steam some fruit and blend it but I couldn't be arsed today so she just had one of those baby breakfast pouches x

My boys on 3 meals and 2 snacks and he dropped to 3 bottles a day and then went back to 4 bottles because I think he’s having a growth spurt. My HV said it’s perfectly fine for them to drop bottles it’s natural for them to drop them gradually until they turn one and you would aim for them to be on 1 bottle by the time they are 1 x

@Elena perfect thank you. I was just worried she wasn't getting enough and we dropped it too early but she's just not interested and I think the minimum is 21oz but she has like 20-24oz other days. X
