So sorry you’re having a tough time! Just know you’re not alone! I’m on floxetine and have been for 3 years, even through my pregnancy- the doctor described floxetine to me as your body can only cope with so much we are like a sea saw and when we start to not feel ourselves it begins to tip on one side and all the floxetine does is balance you out to feel more like yourself. I had a little bit of a head ache for the first 2 weeks when I first started taking them but otherwise than that I didn’t have any other side effects. I went on mine due to me being in a really bad way with my mental health to the point I didn’t want to be here and having to take time off work because my job was so stressful. I had propanol at the start as I had really bad palpitations but like Hazel above I just take it every now and then when I really need it. Hope you feel better soon xx
@Katie did you have palpations from the floxetine or just anxiety? and thank you just took three first one, but of course I’m focusing on the fact it can give me a irregular heart rate as a side effect 🤦🏼♀️ just so so fed up of feeling this way now and being so anxious and panic attacks over my heart n dying x
Sorry you're going through this lovely. I'm currently on 50mg sertraline and 40mg propranolol. I take sertaline everyday and I take the propranolol whenever I'm feeling anxious. Propranolol helps with the physical affects of anxiety not the actual anxiety itself so could be that you need a higher dose to help. Speak to your doctor and see what they say 🥰 sending love xx
@Symone I’ve just realised I’m on 40g of propanol which has caused me even more anxiety, my anxiety has been awful last 2 days but I can’t take it as I’m scared too! my rest heart rate is about 70-85 and I’m scared I’ll die 🫣 this is horrible, I’ve had it in the past but I didn’t have health anxiety then, I do now
@Jasmine I've taken up to 80mg of propranolol and had zero negative side effects. They really help. You could always ask for 10mg ones instead of you're nervous about it. I also take sertraline and did have a few side effects for the first week taking it, but nothing very dramatic. Have they recommended any therapy for you? X
Hey lovey, sorry you’re having a tough time! The propanol is actually really easy to take and I didn’t find they gave me any side effects. They just calm the physical aspects of anxiety, like the shakes, palpitations etc. I would just take them as I needed them. I’ve never been on fluoxetine, but I’ve taken sertraline for years. It can be a little rough as you get used to them, but once your body adjusts it makes a real difference. When you’re alone your mind will play tricks on you, so maybe consider putting on your favourite ‘comfort show’, reading/audiobooks, or podcasts to distract you when you start to feel that anxiety creeping in. Hope things get better for you soon x
