Slightly uncomfortable but not bad at all. You might have cramps or spotting/ brown discharge afterwards. Good luck!!!! xx

I had one yesterday, I was 37+2 and it wasn’t as bad as I thought or had read people saying it was. Yes it was uncomfortable but it was over much quicker than I thought too, maybe 1-2 minutes max. I had some very light pink spotting straight after which they say is normal. Apart from that I had no other symptoms/signs yesterday. This morning I have woken up and I think I am losing my mucus plug in bits. Good luck xx

Id say it isn’t painful but very overwhelming although i guess it depends how much the specific midwife does. I think the anticipation of pain and unsure of the duration is what was worst thing for me. Id say 2 minutes at the very max. Goodluck xx

Just breathe through it using whatever relaxing breathing techniques you normally use. Midwife often counts down from 10 as they perform the sweeping gesture. 😊 I had a sweep at 39+6 and baby was born 9 hours later, so be prepared that it could indeed trigger the cascade needed for labour! Afterwards you may have cramps - you'll know they're progressing into labour in earnest if you start losing mucus, cramps become more and more intense, and cramps become waves (contractions) that you can time at intervals xxx
