I've introduced one for sleep. It took me ages to get her to stick with it. She's not worked out throwing yet (she's move likely to hand it to you 😅). There was a point where she would scream if I gave it to her
@Ebony does it help her settle? I’d love my son to have something that settles him that isn’t me
@Ryan sometimes. We're still learning the self soothing stuff. It did when it smelt like me. I might need to sleep with it again so it smells like me again
We have been trying to introduce one since giving up the dummy to help with naps but no luck yet he just waves it around like crazy or throws it away. He like to have something to chew mostly whatever I'm wearing have even tried giving him a piece of my clothing unwashed but nope. Really think it would help him settle especially when he starts nursery so following this one
Not using any comforters, she has a dummy which we are going to try wean off when she turns 1...so might introduce comforter then in replacement
With my first when I got rid of the dummy I would stroke his face with a comforter as I got him to sleep. He didn't want it at first. I created an association between it and sleep and soon he liked it in the bed and it helped him soothe
I’ve only started giving my little one a comforter/binky since past week, I made sure to have it on me the entire day before giving it to him for the first time, I’m not too sure if it’s made much difference as he has moved into a new bed aswell but I sometimes find he likes to lie on it so we just keep it in there now
We’ve got loads of actual comforters but she isn’t phased by them. She loves having a bib though and sleeps with it😂 If she wakes in the night she will find it and settle herself back down
@Hannah I’ve only just tried to give her a comforter a bedtime the past two nights as she literally cries and scream as soon as turn my back to leave the room, I genuinely thought it would help as she loves it during the day awake or asleep and it’s been everywhere with her since she was newborn but she literally just throws it out the way 🤣 might have to try a bib 😅xx
I am also interested in this as I also want to lose the dummy by 1 but hope a comforter will replace it. I was so excited when pregnant I bought her a jellycat one - not cheap but it was like a little present from me after TTC for years and a miscarriage. I wish I knew everyone bought comforters 😂 she had like 5 😅
I would like to introduce a comforter but my anxiety won’t let me 🤦🏽♀️ please can I ask, what signs you saw from your babies to give you reassurance they’d be safe with one at night?
My son isn’t interested in them which is annoying because he got given loads😂😂
