Missed miscarriage

Hi all.. I’m going through a missed miscarriage but I have my ‘one week’ scan on Monday from the initial one last Monday. After researching about a MMC (and not being provided with much info from my hospital), I’m hoping they will give me the option for a D&C. I wanted to know how long any ladies have had to wait after the ‘confirmation’ of the missed miscarriage 2nd scan, until the D&C procedure. I’ve currently got light bleeding and am so terrified that between now and Monday it’ll ramp up. I know it’ll depend on hospital availability but curious. TIA and love to everyone going through such heartbreaking situations 😔 xx

Hi there, I'm so sorry you're also going through this. I had my scan on Monday this week and they went through all my options, I decided I wanted surgical management under general anesthetic and had my pre op yesterday and my surgery is next Wednesday. I think it depends on when they have availability in surgery but the nurse I spoke to said if the miscarriage started properly they would see me in EPU to assess it and potentially do the surgery earlier. Hope this helps xx

Big hugs to you 😢 Thank you for sharing. I do worry it could be a further week on top so would be 2 weeks in total from when the bleeding originally started. I just don’t think mentally I can go through naturally passing (unless I just don’t physically have an option). It’s such an awful situation for women. I’m so sorry your going through this and hope everything goes as well as it can for Wednesday ❤️❤️

Thank you ❤️ it really is awful isn't it. I hope they can get you in quickly, I was the exactly the same and just don't think I could do it. X

Hi dear, I went through one in 22 and I was personally never offered a d&c I was told my body would take care of it within 3 weeks. It took exactly 3 weeks… sending you love and all the best. 🫶🏻

Thank you for letting me know. So sorry you had to go through that 😔

Are you quite early on in your pregnancy if they are offering another scan in a weeks time? If you are bleeding that is good that your body is taking care of it, it's better to happen naturally than have to go through any intervention. Good luck 💙

I should have been 9/10 weeks but only measured at 5. So due to the measuring there wasn’t a heartbeat which means I have to go back in 7 days for the conclusion. We knew our dates and I’m bleeding so we know it’s not good news. Unfortunately I don’t have great mental health and was off work in autumn for anxiety and related issues so for me personally going through it isn’t ideal.. if my body does do it before I get the chance for medical help then fair enough but given the choice I’d choose it. Everyone is different but right now I know I’m not strong enough for the mental side of it x
