No talking

My daughter is 14 months and hasnt said anything yet.. just baby talk. My HV said she should have said mama by now and gives her 2 more months. I speak 2 languages to her so thats why she gives her a bit more time but she said she is worried she will be behind.. Am i really failing her? I talk to her 24/7 and read books to her every day 😭

Your not doing anything wrong. My little one is 13 months and he babbles but no words as of yet ,,just keep doing what your doing and I’m sure the words will come she shouldn’t of made you worry so much previous reply said it’s normal x

You’re not failing. Is your child happy and healthy? Then no you’ve not failed your child. My son is 4 and is now starting to talk, I haven’t failed him and I’ve fought to get him the support he needs. He’s delayed compared to other children but he’s happy so that’s all that matters. Everyone goes at their own pace, keep and eye and early intervention is the best. We also speak 2 languages in our home/school life.

@Kimberley thank you xxx

Honestly so much pressure on us mums and little children.. you’re doing great, keep pushing for answers etc but sometimes it just clicks out of nowhere. My sons mouth doesn’t stop itđŸ€Łxxx

honestly i hate them health visitors mine is so condescending and patronising. every baby is different !! my daughter turned 14 months yesterday and has her entire own language but won’t mimic me. if i tell her to say something she’ll just laugh at me. but the way she doesn’t stop talking in her language all day just means she’s taking talking at her own pace. i know when she’s ready to form proper words she will!

@Sam yes my daughter keeps babbling away aswell, talks to her toys and her dolls and sounds super cute. But refuses to say mama haha

same! she’ll even point her finger in a passionate discussion and start telling me off in minion language. she’s already talking she just doesn’t know how to put the vowels together properly but she’ll learn as will your little one !

Nah i do 2 languages too but super inconsistently xD my boy prefers signing, since that is the one thing I chose not to focus on. That's just how it goes. They sign in nursery and he's like OOOH FANCY I WANNA DO THAT! They're just sent to test u. In the cutest ways đŸ„°đŸ˜
