Over feeding? Spit up

I know they say it’s not likely to be over feeding when breastfeeding but my little girl seems to stay latched for a long time and have a decent length feed - she’s only a week old yet and managed to feed for around 20-30 mins each time which is great. However I’ve noticed when she does have these longer feeds she tends to spit up abit after compared to if she’s had a slightly shorter feed around 10-15 mins. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is it just one of those things or something I should be keeping an eye on and maybe capping feeds? Also occasionally when she does get milk out some of it comes out of her nose - is this normal?! My first daughter never did this and it’s concerning me a little!

Have you tried a more upright feeding position and keeping her upright for 20 minutes after feedings. My son has issues with spitting up and it was from being laid back during/after feeds.

@Brianne oh I didn’t even think about positioning but makes sense! I think because she’s generally in that sleepy baby phase so tends to fall asleep on the boob so my instinct is to put her down after. But thank you, will try this and hope it helps 🤞🏽
