Pick up, put down sleep training

Has anyone tried or have a success story regarding the pick up, put down sleep training technique? My little boy is still currently being bounced on a yoga ball to sleep and has numerous wake ups at night. We are also experiencing split nights and he's up for 1 to 2 hours in the early hours but he's come on loads developmentally so think that accounts for that. I would also like him to be able to be placed in his crib and self settle before starting nursery as I don't think they will bounce him for his naps Thanks so much for any help or advice!!

I’ve always put her down awake, if she fusses I go in, tell her it’s okay and it’s night time and stroke her face/gove dummy then leave, I repeat this up to three times before just going in and saying nothing but giving dummy/comforter etc. I have only picked her up if she is really really upset but I try to avoid it. I only had to do this for a short time and now she goes to bed awake puts herself to sleep and sleeps through the night most of the time. Good luck

Yes we started doing this a couple of days ago and so far it has worked well for us. Initially it took about 30mins of picking him up/putting him down in the evenings but now it takes max 15 mins for us 🥹

If it helps any, my LO had his nursery settling days last week and they rocked and held him for his naps and said they would until he was more settled then they'd try transition to something else- so some nurseries will bounce/ rock as needed 💕

Thank you all ❤️

I wish this had worked for us. We tried it but every time it just made her worse and worse. We used the Ferber method in the end and that worked really well
