Waking Baby To Feed

What is everyone’s opinion on waking baby during the night to feed? All my midwives have said she needs to be woken up every 3/4 hours to feed however, during the nighttime, she sometimes sleeps longer than this. Should I be waking her up or let her sleep as she will wake up when she is hungry anyway? She is only 9 days old x

Keep waking her until she’s gained her birth weight x

Same question here - baby boy above his birth weight, and almost three weeks old. Do I wake or wait for him to wake?

@Megan once their back to birth weight you no longer need to wake them 🫶🏼

If at birth weight let them sleep if you need relief tho you may need to pump.

Unless they aren’t gaining weight there is absolutely no need to wake them at night. Get some extra sleep if and when you can!

Dream feed her. So make her bottle ready for her then feed and burp her while she’s asleep. If she hungry she’ll take the bottle if she’s not then she won’t. I done this in the first couple month as she stated sleep 12-7am from 8/10 weeks. After 12 weeks and a check with the HV I didn’t do nights feeds unless she woke me. She’s now 11 soon thriving. But giving how little she is I’d listen to professional but also seek information from your HV.

If babies reached her birth weight you can let them sleep 💤 If they haven’t try to wake them to feed👩‍🍼 My doctor said that even if they don’t wake up try to get them at even at least just a drop or two. It’s supposed to keep there sugar at a good level✨

Dream feed or don’t feed at all. She’ll wakes when hungry! Only a problem if she isn’t gaining or other health concerns

I stopped waking my son for feeds after 3/4 weeks. He’s six weeks now and can sometimes sleep 6/7 hour stretches.

@Megan I let my son sleep till he woke up hungry but it’s up to you and what you want to do.

@Taylor Can I have you son🤣 My son is like a clock work he wakes up every 2 hours and if I get lucky he will sleep for 3-5 hours but that’s rare😭

@Elizabeth I wish you luck! This is only as of recently 😂 and even some nights he’s up every 3 hours. Keeping my fingers crossed he keeps his 7 hours streak up!
