I would definitely call the gp as you want this sorted and they need to get to the bottom of it, especially if you’re worrying about it/it’s causing you problems! All the best 🩷
Hey I’m literally the same and you can’t even have time to air it out as you’re always busy. Same response from gp. Mine is very slowly closing up but gp prescribed antibiotic gel which I think is helping. I also dab it dey with cotton wool pad
I didn’t fully recover from my c-section until I was 3 months post section. I had a really bad infection that smelt soooo bad. It was embarrassing, painful and felt like it went on forever. I smothered mine with sudocrem in the end. Sounds silly but it healed so much faster! Doctors told me to bathe it in salt water 3 times a day which I did but 3 months was a long time! And when I say the smell and weeping was bad I mean it was bad! 2 weeks after my c section my partner went back to work, I went for a wee and just so much bloody liquid just fell on the floor. I thought I was dying ngl. They tested the puss at the doctors and tests come back fine it was just something to just deal with (well that’s the attitude I kinda got from it). Honestly stick a maternity pad there, clean it 3 times a day, lightly dab it with a dry cloth, air it out when you can and put sudocrem on it during the night. That’s when mine really cleared up. Hope you feel better soon ❤️🩹
Could the smell be fungal given that its in a crease? Mine didn't heal for 5 months. Topical steroid and salt water bathing closed the hole in the end. But often the odour was fungal not infection. Is there any white around it. Could try a canestan or clotrimazole cream
I had similar and got a steroid & antibiotic cream from the GP which seemed to help it heal. No more opening or weeping after I’d finished using it ☺️
@Davina that’s good to know thank you! I’ll try the sudocream and see if that helps with the smell it’s so horrible I feel gross 🥲 bless you that sounds so traumatic! I’ve put some sterile gauze in there in the day now and that seems so be helping and not bleeding anymore which is good x
@Lucy that’s good to know thank you I’ll ask them about that today x
@Ellie I have a feeling it might be! There’s no white but it doesn’t look infected to me, I’ll ask the doc about it x
@Paige it’s so hard isn’t it especially when you have a toddler and baby to cope with, I just don’t get time to air it. I’m going to ask a doc for cream today I think x
@Olivia You can get anti fungal creams at a pharmacy don't need a doctor x
I was prescribed a medicated talcum powder which was a GAME CHANGER! It kept everything dry and my scar healed within days. My issues was because of of tummy my scar was in a fold essentially so however clean and dry I thought it was, I think throughout the day it was just an area that was warm so I could never keep the area bone dry which I think scars need
hey i don’t know if you do this but when you shower air dry and make sure it’s completely dry before putting clothes on it should help
