We are in the exact same position and just trying to figure out when to restart IVF. We have been trying since our son turned 1 and he will be 2 in feb who we had through IVF which took us 2 cycles to become pregnant. I find it so hard that so many people think it’s so easy for you to get pregnant after your 1st and keep asking when baby number 2 is coming like it’s not as easy for us to just get pregnant. I’m also worried that NHS no longer help us now so we will have to pay but we do have 2 frozen embryos so I’m hoping an FET will be successful, you definitely aren’t alone in this 🩵
I'm not trying to invalidate your experience at all, but this isn't secondary infertility. This is primary infertility again. I'm only pointing this out because the typical advice for secondary infertility may not apply to your situation, as you needed IVF before, you'd likely need it again. Fellow IVF mum here 🩵
@Charley Oh yes you’re right lol I misunderstood the meaning but now I understand! Thanks for clarifying👍🏻
@Lauren I wish it was easy to get pregnant second time around after doing IVF for your first. I currently don’t have anyone frozen embryos left so I would have to do the egg retrieval again and that’s what I’m scared about!!🥺
@Lisa I’ve had so many people saying oh you’ll get pregnant naturally after IVF as that’s what happened to this or that person I’m like that’s not the same situation for everyone. I’m so sorry you’ll have to go through the whole process with egg retrieval again, it’s such a rough road and I really don’t want a huge gap between children that’s if I can even be successful in getting pregnant with a second child just all feels like if’s and maybe’s at the moment
You’re not alone, we’re in a very similar situation, trying for 6ish months and daughter just turned 2. I was so hopeful it would happen naturally for us this time, but no such luck. My cycle has gone a bit bonkers for the last few months too and seriously concerned I’m becoming menopausal (low egg count was our main issue). Wishing you the best of luck if you do have to go through IVF again. Xx
Although some people are successful at naturally conceiving after IVF the vast majority of us are not, you are definitely not alone.
