Spinning

My toddler is non verbal but will walk around spinning and turning his head to the side. Is this signs of quite severe autism or will he grow out of it. He is 19 months old.

No one’s really knows until you get them evaluated. Once you do that enroll him into speech and occupational therapy. My son flips his hands and has a short attention span, but he’s level 1. So they can have little things about that that stands out but can still do well in school. Find schools and programs that allow him to get around other kids even if it’s half a day. Does he like to play with outer kids? Also what is he watching on tv or iPad? I found that if I had on educational shows my son learned them before he even said a word to me. So they are a lot smarter than we think. Just because they don’t speak doesn’t mean they will never, or they could use a iPad to communicate. My son I have to make him speak to me because he chooses not to for a long time. My son is 5 he didn’t start speech until he was 4. That’s only because I was educated enough and I didn’t reach out for help like you.

With quick assessment and Intervention we can help them to achieve their dreams ✨💕

Im not sure on severity of it but thought id share my son does that and has since about 1, hes 4 now and been diagnosed with autism and a developmental delay and is non verbal but does great with PECS and is now even spelling words by himself and manages day to day life well x
