@Cassie hey! I was diagnosed with uterine prolapse this morning I am 7 months pp and we planned to start trying when she is 1. My gp has said to continue pelvic floor exercises and she’s contacting the hospital to see if I need to see a gynaecologist due to my age (27), she said she will get back to me within 2 weeks. Would having another baby mean I’d have to have a c section because of prolapse do you know? I also keep seeing people saying you never recover from prolapse but then few people have said they recovered. Do you know if it is possible to have a full recovery? X
I have a different type of prolapse, but I’ve just safely had my 2nd baby via c section because it asked for a section, I could have had a vaginal brith if Id wanted to. I had physio after my first baby and I’m having physio now x
@Sammy hey! Congratulations! Did you have any complications in your pregnancy due to it? Xx
Thank you! No, all was good! Towards the end it was hard because of the weight of baby on prolapse but I’m making v good recovery post section :) i was consultant led because i asked for c section, which they agreed to with no issues at all but c section went to plan, i had a blood loss and im struggling with low iron but thats not prolapse related x
Yes, it's possible to have a safe pregnancy and delivery after having a uterine prolapse and giving birth to your first child. Uterine prolapse doesn't usually impact fertility. The severity of your prolapse can impact how you manage your pregnancy. It could become worse while carrying baby number two. Talk with your gynecologist about your concerns and get guidance on what's best for you. Pelvic floor strength problems can be improved with lifestyle changes and physiotherapy and I would recommend definitely strengthening that area up before the second. If you've had surgery for pelvic organ prolapse, you can still have a safe pregnancy.
