No our plug sockets are safe enough 😊
Nope, they actually make the sockets unsafe if you use them! UK sockets are safe as is
I saw a video a few months back on an electrician explaining how the UK plugs are safe. Basically the top pin of the plug opens the electrics of the bottom 2. If you have a plug cover and put it in the top but upside-down it opens the electrics which then means you have an unsafe open circuit. I hope this makes sense
My fiancé is a sparky. He says if those plugs, the top pin breaks inside it, then the 2 bottom pin holes are left open, and that's when children can electrocute themselves as it's constantly open. So they are actually safe as they are!
So general advice is to not use plug socket protectors? As we was looking at getting them but was unsure x
@Natasha that’s true! They’re actually more unsafe than if you leave your sockets alone x
@Amy thankyou so much!
Great - one less thing to have to buy and worry about. Thanks everyone 🙂 xx
We haven’t. In loads of my mum whatsapp groups people give them away unused.
