I had an elective section with my first and will be having one again this time. I was in for 24 hours last time and have been told it’ll be the same again this time as long as everything goes well! I didn’t use very much in my hospital bag at all and don’t think there is much to take that is c-section specific apart from high waisted knickers in a size up and clothes that won’t rub on your incision ☺️
I haven't had one previously but am having one this time and have been told as long as there are no complications I will be discharged the next day. My understanding is that the main difference in the hospital bag is high waisted comfy trousers/ underwear.
Thank you ladies xx
I booked mine today but not been giving a date yet get a call next week when to go in for pre op and then day after I’ll have operation xx
I’ve had one and will be having another. I was only in for just over 24 hours with my first so hoping will be the same this time! Hospital bag items will be similar to a V birth except you won’t need any of the bits and pieces people may choose to use for contractions or after care of the area. Main things that were important for me were very loose fitting jogging pants that don’t sit near the wound as well as high waisted underwear, I used sanitary pads rather than the sanitary underwear as I didn’t feel I needed them. I think other bits and pieces would more or less be standard to a hospital bag for any birth! X
I was talking to my midwife today about this, she said it’s normally for days for a section but obviously depends on complications etc.
