I’m 2.5 weeks postpartum and have noticed that after I’m more active (walking, housework etc) my abdominal muscles are sore and crampy. I assume that my abdominal muscles have separated during pregnancy and it will take a while for them to knit back together but it’s making me feel a bit anxious. Anyone else?
My midwife checked my muscles on our day 1 appointment. Advised to do some slow ab crunches (not sit ups all the way, just tensing) and to wear support like a tubigrip bandage x
Very normal. Need to listen to your body, sounds like you are over doing it. Takes a while for your insides to return to normal after having a baby xx
