If you are unsure, you can slowly reintroduce your breast milk to your LO. If you are certain that it is dairy, then I wouldn’t add it back. And when you do there is a dairy ladder that you should try to ease into it. It sucks, but it’s only temporary. And so worth it, to relieve that anguishing pain that they get 😭. Sometimes it does more harm than good. My LO is 8 months old and has tongue tie but it isn’t as bad.

@Tammy ive never breastfed little man hes been on formula since birth x

You could pump breast milk and feed your LO through a bottle. My LO was on formula on day one till I got some decent amount of breast milk by pumping and giving her the bottle. After that she drank breast milk but I suspect that she was CMPA. The reason that I suspect CMPA, was that she presented the classic symptoms and found blood in stool by the doctor. Then I slowly transition her to formula. It is up to you if you want to see if your LO has symptoms of CMPA.

Please don't test the allergy as all symptoms haven't cleared If its been 10 weeks and baby still isn't right I'd suggest going back to drs to get a formula change Although if and when it's right to do the milk challenge it's 1oz per day extra of normal formula Example day 1 6oz allergy 1 oz cows Day 2 5 oz allergy 2 oz cow etc

@Emma-louise a lot of the things i thought were cmpa is actually being caused by a tongue tie and tension in his jaw which i didnt know about until 2 days ago and he has an eczema type rash on his belly but i had eczema as a child as well so the only thing i can actually link back to cmpa now is his bowels but he started on nutramigen 1 week after finishing a course of antibiotics and had no symptoms until a couple days after starting the antibiotics so looking back im guessing it was just the antibiotics thats why i dont think he ever had it in the first place x

So with the eczema have tou found a cream thats helping? I only ask this as it can be a symptom of cmpa and if it's linked it won't go with cream without the correct milk Of course you can do the challenge if you feel comfortable with it that's why I posted how to do it above I hope it goes well as it will definitely make life easier for you both

@Emma-louise yeah its gotten better over the past couple days using dermol 500 and hes been on neocate for about 5 weeks now so definitely not getting better because of the formula, I was so against doing the challenge previously when i genuinely believed he had cmpa but honestly at this point i highly doubt it
