Independent naps before bedtime
Hi mamas. LO is currently 13 weeks. Everyone says to start training the baby to sleep independently for bedtime before naps cause it's easier. However, it wasn't our intention to train LO yet but one good day she just started falling asleep on her own by sucking her hands for naps (before that, I was practicing putting her down awake and sitting next to her giving her the pacifier to help fall asleep for naps) so I took the chance to let her keep doing that for a few days now. She is still swaddled for bedtime as she hasn't rolled yet. I'm wondering if any mums have the same situation? We're thinking of transitioning her out of the swaddle this weekend and allowing her to self soothe to sleep for bedtime like she does for naps. If your LO has done this, how did it go? Would it take less time for them to learn for bedtime since they already did for naps? Did they keep waking up every 30 minutes at bedtime thinking it's naps as well? FYI - my LO used to do catnaps a lot (and still does) but since she fell asleep on her own lately, sometimes she'd soothe herself back to sleep and continue her naps randomly to 1 hour or sometimes 2 hours. Thanks!
Sounds like your little one is doing great, sleep wise! Keep doing what works for you.
