Baby groups/classes

Hey everyone! I am due to have my first little boy in a couple of weeks time and want to look into some baby groups/classes in and around the Colchester area! This is all completely new to me so I do have a few questions! How old were your children when you started to take them to groups? Which groups are best for newborns? Would love some advice! Thank you🩵xxx

We started Hartbeeps when my little boy was 6 weeks and loved it (continued until only recently and he’s just turned 2!) x

@Jessie thank you Jessie! Where abouts is Hartbeeps please and would you recommend?xx

@Georgia we used to go to the one at Jungle Adventure and then moved to the one upstairs at Go Bananas, but there are loads of different locations. If you just put in your postcode on their site it’ll show you nearest to you x

@Jessie ahh amazing! Thank you Jessie xx

Ooh I have lots of recs! Baby massage is a lovely first class, we did Basking Babies. I did baby yoga with them with my first, but I’m doing baby yoga with Liz Archer at the Manor Wellness Centre this time and she’s lovely. I’ve done every stage if Hartbeeps with my 3yo and she still loves it. I bring my 7mo old along and she enjoys it too, although she’s not experienced the lovely calm baby bells class 😂 we go to Kingsland Church for the class which is nice as they have a cafe there. My eldest has been swimming with Mini Swimming since she was 8 months, we did a private first class with them when she was 4 months and got to take photos which was so cute. We also go to a few playgroups run by churches, they’re usually about £2 per family and they do little crafts and activities and you get a cuppa, maybe a snack too. We normally go to St Leonard’s on a Wednesday morning, but there’s one at Kingsland on a Monday, the All Saints Church on Ireton road on a Tuesday, Layer de la Haye

Village hall on a Thursday. There’s also Rhyme Time at the library (Colchester and Prettygate) a couple of times a week and that’s free! Always good to have cheap options when you’re on maternity pay 🤣

@Lauren thank you so much for all your recommendations! Will definitely look into these xxx

I used to do a sing and sign group at the fitness for less gym that was good they do a baby class and a toddler one too so baby can move up! I’m due my second and I’ll definitely do that one again ☺️

@Emily Ahh amazing! Will definitely look into this! Thank you xx
