We don’t have mama or dada yet 😬
My baby isn't even babbling dadada bababa yet 😭
So normal! Some babies get their first word sooner, some get it later, like everything else. If they’re babbling a lot, have good pre-expressive language skills- eye contact, gestures, understanding etc. then it’s almost certainly nothing to worry about.
We don't have any words, or gestures for that matter. (Pointing/waving)
That makes me feel better. The HV said he should be saying phrases by now so it was a concern but that felt way too early!
Mines just only yells STOP! At his siblings 🤣 that’s it

My LO doesn't say words yet. Babbles mama but it doesn't mean me yet I don't think just a general babble.
@Roo he is crawling very fast, pulling up on everything! And starting to cruise. He is waving and clapping but not pointing. He makes lots of eeees and ahhhs and occasionally mmm changes his volume ect but no consonants. What about yours?

He babbles a lot and says “dada” but it doesn’t actually mean anything since we don’t refer to his father as “dad” or “daddy.” So yeah, definitely not talking. 😅
This is really normal! You definitely wouldn't expect him to be saying phrases yet - I'm a speech therapist and at 18 months you'd maybe expect them to string 2 words together but not before. My baby will be one this week and doesn't have any words and I'm not worried 🙂
