No. Indoor clothing only when in the car seat.
Nk they can’t, indoor clothing with a blanket on top of them. Also no hats in the car generally however I sat in the back seat with my son on the way home to make sure the hat didn’t cover his face and kept his head warm as it was quite cold when he was born.
Baby is due in February so what should I put him in for in the car seat on the way home? Just a vest with sleepsuit and blanket? I feel he’ll be too cold
Long sleeved vest, babygro & blanket will be fine.
Yes vest, sleepsuit, mittens folded over, hat on and blanket on when from the hospital to the car. Baby will be fine keep the heat nice and warm in the car for baby and sit in the back with him to make sure the hat doesn’t cover his face. Newborns can’t regulate their temp and lose most of their heat through their head so if you’re able to sit in the back and keep his hat on and a blanket he’ll be fine.
A thin cardigan would be fine too :)
Car seats are super insulated and you will obviously put the heating on in the car so yep just vest, sleep suit, hat and a blanket over the top will be fine for the short walk to the car ☺️
Vest, sleepsuit and if its particularly cold a thin knitted cardigan 🙂 then a blanket over their legs once in the seat
Nope x
Vest, sleepsuit and cardigan if needed, with a blanket. No snowsuits, coats or hats in the car, as baby can overheat x
Thanks so much xx
We used the rain cover over the car seat from the hospital to the car when my January baby came home to keep the wind chill off
I’ve just realised I haven’t even got any long sleeve vests they’re all short sleeved 🤦🏻♀️
My little boy was a February baby. We took him home in a short sleeved vest, baby grow, knitted cardigan (which was a nightmare as it has decorative holes in and was really hard to get on) and then a blanket over the top. My husband also heated the car before we got in! Xx

A short sleeved vest will be fine as well if he has a babygro on. You could even put a little knitted cardigan on over as well if you have one x
No, the seatbelt can’t be fastened tight enough
