How to make new friends??

I would love advice and feel stuck. I’m a first time stay at home mom, and wanting more friends. Most or all of my main friends are out of state since I moved for college. Now that I am not working, or in school, and have a brand new baby it’s hard finding time to meet friends. I also feel stuck due to being on one income, so I’m not as free spending my own money since I rely on my husband now. What do you do to make it work, meet people and still have a rewarding time?? I’m happy being a stay at home mom now but look forward to working again in the future. I finished school and feel I have so much to give, but having a baby holds me back in ways. I’m glad I know I’m a really good mom but wanting friends in my own state to meet up with. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I’m in the exact same boat. Libraries have free events each week for babies/kids The hospitals host mom/parent groups and play times for various ages. Museums. I’ve also been using bumble bff to meet new people. Some people just want to text and some actually want to meet up in person. There are mom Facebook groups I joined too and they post about local events for kids or meet ups. They also have specific meet up groups for outdoor play only etc. Hope those help. It’s hard being so far from friends. I had a friend reach out on social media and tell me she made a lot of really cool mom friends by going to the events. I’m definitely going to put in the effort.

It's tough being new and adjusting to being a sahm. When I had my first meet up.com was a pretty active and free site to join meet up groups and go on play dates so it was actually pretty easy to do. When I had my second it wasn't as easy and I'm a lot older than most moms with new babies. If you can't find a play date group you can try creating one yourself on here, or on FB. Advertise to your local fb groups that you're creating one and schedule park play dates and set up times to meet at your local library story times. Hopefully you find some mom friends you click with.

I make friends online. All of you can message me and I'll send you a discord to join!
