Baby here!

My precious girl was born on Thursday the 16th January! I had lots of labour symptoms for around a month before she was born! Started bleeding and having bad back pain on Monday and hospital sent me home, went back on Tuesday and they sent me home again even after saying I had reduced movements. Booked me for an induction on Wednesday so we went in ready but because I was still bleeding they said they’d do it on Thursday instead and monitored me all day Wednesday. Thursday I woke up with ridiculous back pain and started bleeding heavily, they took me down to CLU to ‘break my waters’ as I was 3-4cm, they’d already broke a bit but they broke them fully. Tried to use gas and air but ended up throwing up everywhere, then tried epidural however it only numbed one side of my stomach and the only pain I was getting was in my back anyway so it did nothing! I ended up screaming in pain as every contraction was just my back and hips in agony. Baby’s heart rate started dropping and they tried wiggling the epidural to see if it would help. They checked my cervix and I was 8cm dilated so had got all that way with 0 pain relief! Baby’s heart rate dropped again so they ended up taking me off for an emergency c-section! Was absolutely terrifying and the epidural only started working on the way to the theatre! Finally she was born and weighed 8lb 1oz at 16:06, I was only in labour for under 5 hours. Turns out the placenta was deattaching from baby which is why I was bleeding and having excruciating back pain and why baby’s heart rate was dropping. Luckily we are both well and safe and after being monitored for 2 days we were allowed home! Was definitely not the labour I had wanted but am still so glad she’s here!! Just wanted to make anyone aware if you have bad back/ hip pain that only seems to be getting worse than please go straight to hospital and mention the placenta to them as it can get dangerous very quickly! Don’t let them tell you it’s ‘normal’ and to ‘wait for 4 contractions’ listen to your body and you’ll know what’s best!
