Induced tomorrow

Being induced tomorrow at 40+4 starting with a pessary at frimley park hospital. So scared since baby’s head not engaged at all and not dilated just soft and well effaced cervix managed to have half a sweep today. Very emotional and overwhelmed.

Wishing you the best of luck! I’m sure baby will know what to do when them contractions start, head should engage and it kind of forces them out. I’m sure it’s all going to go amazing just keep telling yourself you’re one step closer to meeting your baby❤️

Thank you so much @Kas means a lot 🥹

I was induced and baby was not engaged at all before this. I was offered the gel and after 2 rounds (about 12 hours) I was 3cm and ready for my waters to be broken. You’ve got this.

Omg @Eloise thank you for the info..they will start me on the pessary tomorrow and if that doesn’t work she said the gels then.

I am 40+6 and my cervix is closed so unable to have sweeps. I was slightly terrified about induction. I started induction this morning with a pessary and have been absolutely fine so far :)

wishing you luck lovely❤️ xx

@Serena how is it going so far?Thats what they’ll do with me tomorrow.

@Lorena absolutely fine. They leave it in for 24hours and then tomorrow morning I will know what the next stage is depending on how my cervix has responded. I’m comfortable just bored and don’t really want to stay in overnight.

@Serena I can only imagine and it’s worse cos you alone no partner allowed overnight.I am just worried about it taking too many days in case they busy and I have seen the hormones can distress baby and their heartbeat and they don’t monitor you that often so quiet worries about it all.

The monitoring so far has being very good after the initial pessary they put me on the ccg for 30 mins and then again 4 hours later. They’ve done Dopplers every 4 hours since and obs and have said to notify them if there’s any concerns. So far it’s been a positive experience. I have heard that if the pessary is successful there can be delays getting to the labour ward if there’s no beds.

@Serena aw gosh what happens then?If there is no bed but you are ready?

I think the next stage if the pessary is successful would be for them to break your waters on the labour ward. So I think they can send you home as long as everything is okay. It’s all very new to me so I could be wrong.
