Induction or C-Section- Urgent decision making time!

I’ve been really looking forward to going into labour naturally and having a VBAC birth. So today we went to the birth centre for a first sweep at 41+2 days but it led to bleeding. Being a bit cautious the midwife sent us to triage where they did a speculum examination and found there was bleeding but they seem to not been able to find the cause for it. The bleeding stopped but they have put me in the antenatal ward to monitor baby’s heartbeat, to keep an eye on the bleeding and mostly so that I can make a decision between induction or c- section. I really need some advise and if you ladies can share some positive stories of your induction or C- Section. I’m still hoping I will go in labour naturally before anything 🤞🏾🥹 please ladies if you can help me with it will be great. The midwife is coming in 30 -40 mins to ask for our decision.

Owww that must of come as such a shock I hope your okay ☹️. I don’t have an opinion but I may be in a similar situation so I’m following to view others experience too x

So I went with induction but then they had to stop because I was contracting so much, I ended up with a c section which was decided after a horrendous stint of preclamsia and a horrid pregnancy. I'm 11 days pp now and still in a little pain but nothing major

I would ask what the safest thing to do is for your sake and the baby’s and explain to them how you’re feeling and you might be able to come up with a plan together 🫶🏻 hang in there

To say my induction wasn’t planned, it could not have gone any better (apart from being in hospital over Christmas) everything was so calm and I clicked really well with my first midwife. So much so that when she came back on shift Christmas Day evening she in her words ‘claimed me back’ 😂 and assisted the delivery of my unexpected Christmas baby 🥲 all in all I guess all I can advise is trust the process and remind yourself you’re one step closer to meeting your little one

@Donna thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. I’ve had a low risk pregnancy and a fairly dream like pregnancy. So this has come as a shock to me. But then we did prepare ourself for being adaptable and flexible. I’m not sure why didn’t I go into spontaneous labour for which I don’t know I’m feeling quite the guilt about it. I’m fine as of now, so not sure if I should just wait for another day or two or go for induction or a C- section? This is so confusing and a bit daunting. But I really appreciate your response and support, thank you for sharing your experience with us.

@Jade I’m still keeping my spirits and hopes up, still hoping for a beautiful, easy and smooth delivery and a happy and healthy baby. It was a bit difficult when it happened, but I feel now I’m making peace with the situation and trying to make the best decision for my baby. I’d say, don’t stress- take a deep breath and know that it will all work out. But I’m glad that some women are so kind and generous with their time and are willing to share their experience. It can really help us and others who are in the same boat. 🤞🏾

@Hannah they did say they aren’t now worried about bleeding as it’s not actively bleeding, and the baby by God’s grace seems to be okay. So they were suggesting taking oral tablet for induction. Not sure if anyone has any experience with that? I am hoping that there will be a miracle and before we do that I would start contracting on my own. Well I have an hour for that to happen 🤞🏾

Got everything crossed for you that you do! Maybe do some star jumps or something 🥴😅 I’m due Saturday and I’m hoping it starts naturally aswell 🤞🏻

@Billie-Jo thank you so so much for sharing your experience Billie. Sounds like a beautiful delivery. If you don’t mind can you share the method of induction you went for ? And how long after the induction did your labour start? Did you have a vaginal birth? They were suggesting me with the hormonal tablets.

I went for the hormonal pessary! The rods seemed a bit too invasive for my liking 🙈the pessary was in for 24 hours (from what my midwife said, the tablets only take 6 hence why they maybe suggesting them too you) they took that out at 1:10pm and broke my waters, they started the hormonal drip at around 4:15, and I was pushing by 10pm. According to my notes I was in active labour for 6 hours and 18 minutes, pushing for 48 minutes 🩷
