Ivf vs iui?

Hi guys 👋🏼 Currently been ttc for a while, haven’t seen anyone yet about fertility due to gp neglect. I have had an ultrasound where they said it looks normal 🤷🏻‍♀️… just wondering what iui is and is it a huge cost as-well as ivf and what are the rules and restrictions ? I’m nearly 40 with ill health. I live in the midlands in the UK. Thanks 🙏🏼

Hi, all my test come back clear but had gp neglect as well so we went private and done 2 rounds of just medication with was unsuccessful then a round of IUI which we fell pregnant first try, I wanted to explore them options first before going only IVF. We paid about £800-£900 for our round of IUI which included medication in that total price. The clinic was amazing and very reasonable for where I am based in London and would definitely recommend

An IUI is where the sperm is injected into your uterus close to the fallopian tube so they have a greater chance of reaching the egg. Depends on where you live, iuis are covered where I'm from and you just have to pay for medications. IVF where I am starts at $18k plus medications. But it depends how much time you want to take as well. IVF has a much higher success rate so may be much faster
