Typically, boys are developmentally behind girls until around key stage 2. The EYFS now just likes children to be able to say a few words and walk by 2 years old. As every child develops at their own pace x
That's quite normal, if they've been working on their motor skills first. My eldest daughter was the same, she didn't become a chatterbox until she was 3. The talking will come, just be patient & keep talking/singing nursery rhymes etc....
I would say don't worry. My LG was like this until the last few days and now she's suddenly started coming out with quite a few words! Xx
