@Brittany I think we’re thinking about the same thing but she doesn’t ever let go of it 🫠 it’ll be we have to sit down for dinner “why” so we can be safe and don’t choke “oh, why” because we could fall and choke if we’re standing and eating “oh, why?” And about everything and it never ends. 😅
I’m going through this! I’ve literally answer the question twice then I move on. Like I ask her back. She gets stumped on it sometimes. But she’ll drop it and do something else. The days when it’s worse I whisper the answer and it makes her smile. Then I just continue to whisper till she’s done with me lol. But this way I’ve done it has been less stressful for me and more entertaining to see how she responds back.
@Mia great advice, thank you! I'm literally losing my mind. I'm the in same boat. She asks over and over again even if I answer. And if I try to just ignore it, she has got some persistence!!! 😭 it just goes on and on.
@Mia Thank you, I’ll try whispering! I feel like I’m going crazy talking in circles for weeks now so I’ll try literally anything! 😂 She does not give it up so maybe this will throw her off enough
We haven’t gotten to this phase yet but I’ve heard it helps to ask “Why do you think?” And let them do some of the answers!
Try to remember that this is their way of learning the world. See things through their eyes.
@Tosha I definitely understand that but when I’m answering the same question 20 times in a row it is a little maddening 🫠 She’ll say “Mom what are you doing” I’ll answer then she’ll ask another 20 times in a row and I’ll answer the same answer.. at some point there has to be a way to end that 😂
@Nicole we try something along the lines of this! Sometimes I say “what do you think” sometimes she’ll answer and sometimes she tells me “no-you tell me by yourself” 😂🤷🏻♀️
I have the opposite problem. We are in the “why” phase. Go sit in your chair for dinner. “Why” let’s clean up your toys. “Why” I do answer every question so she understands why I’m asking. But she’s also my first.
