I am in the US but I would call the pediatrician, most have nurses on call 24/7, they’ll direct you on next steps

Clean it then pat dry, and leave it uncovered (fold nappy down at top). My sons looked like this and it was because the first couple days we forgot to be folding the nappy down, quickly cleared up once we let it air dry out x

go to hospital as urgent care tends to have more sick ppl

I'd go immediately to a ER that has a pediatric unit if you can call 📞 they will answer so you don't waste your time. This isn't one of those it'll get better, this looks infected. I think the stump got infected or fell off too early IMO

i’d get it checked out. i don’t mean to frighten you but i was told if it’s oozing, it’s infected and it looks liquidy to me. not sure if you’re UK/US, or anywhere else but just your urgent care unit. (if you’re in the UK, either your midwife, neonatal nurse, health visitor or GP will be able to advise) don’t worry and i hope it clears up soon xxx

Just ask your midwife to check it and they can swab if needed. Just contact local birth centre or wherever you've been seeing your midwife x
