Self settling

This might be a silly question, but can you little one self settle? When my little boy wakes at night, he seems to freak out and get really upset, its not his normal cry, he screams! He's now trying to roll over when he's upset too (hes just learning to roll over really well). He's EBF and won't settle until I put him on the boob. He not taking a dummy abd I'm a bit lost now because my daughter was obsessed with her dummy, so we relied on that Is anyone using a comforter or a muslin square? How did you introduce it? Is it too late to introduce something now at 7 months?

Omg, it's so annoying 😅 I forgot to say that he used to suck his thumb to self settle but seems to have forgotten how to do that

Yes! The thumb sucking seemed to help but my baby also doesn’t do that anymore 🤣🫣

My little girl doesn’t self settle either so I have to pick her up and put her to sleep. I’m pretty sure NHS doesn’t recommend a comforter etc until they are 1 years old so I wouldn’t recommend introducing yet. I plan to introduce it when she’s 1 x

My girl is the same, we cosleep, so i just give boob and we sleep 🫣🤣 she doesn't take dummy (only child out of 4) i think it will come with time for them, we just need to be patient 🙈

Could he be teething? My daughter just turnt 7months and was doing this for around a week and only settled on boob, she does take a dummy but that wouldn’t settle her and she then cut through her 2 bottom teeth? X

I thought it was just my boy! All of a sudden, he started screaming at night and there's no settling him. I give him a bottle when that happens and that seems to do the trick a bit, but it doesn't always send him back to sleep and he sometimes goes back to screaming. Last night this went on for almost 2h. I'm not sure if it's teething because I can't see any teeth breaking through and it's been almost 3 weeks of this now.
