Me! 34+3 and my back is in bits 😢
I just found out that my baby is transverse at 34 weeks 😭
@Lauren what did they say to you about the plan going forward?
Absolutely nothing 😅 I saw my midwife at 34 weeks who thought the baby was head down but a growth scan at 34+2 showed that the 'bum' was actually the head. The sonographer mentioned it and put it in my notes but didn't say anything else. I have my next midwife appointment at 36 weeks - from what I've read online, they'll send you for a presentation scan at 36 weeks to confirm then offer an ECV/admit to hospital around 37 weeks
@Lauren I’ve heard a few people mentioning about admission to hospital at 37 weeks. Do you know why this is?
From what I understand its because the cord can come out if you start to dilate without realising and that can cut off blood supply to the baby. I think they'd admit you from 37 weeks and do a planned section at 39 weeks
I'm pretty sure an ECV would be offered first, but it's only done my specialists so it would depend on if your hospital has one. From what I've read, ECVs tend to be less successful with transverse babies compared to breech babies because of the way they stretch out the womb
We are transverse too 31+5. Same thing with my daughter, she went head down around 36w
Mine isn't transverse, but i am soooo uncomfortable at 33 weeks!
