I say to myself “he’s having a hard time, he’s not giving me a hard time” I also do deep breaths (which he has picked up on and has gradually started doing them by himself). If you’re interested, check out the Unruffled podcast by Janet Lansbury. I have found it to be super helpful.

I was taught of a little thing we need to do before we just blurt out what we’ll regret. “Blow on your shop to cool it off” just as you should your emotions. Something I’m also working on remembering myself too.
