Induction process / experience

Hi all, I’ve been booked in for an induction on the 31st January when I will be 41+4 ( if I make it that far) Can I hear peoples experience with being induced at Lincoln hospital please? Including the process from when you arrive at the hospital just so I have more of an idea what I can expect? Thank you :)

My induction was fine. The midwives were beautiful people. They explained everything really well ❤️

@Emma thank you!! What was the process like from when you arrived at hospital if you don’t mind me asking?x

Mine went well as well! I think our appointment was booked for around 11am. I had a bed area allocated to me, where me and my partner could set up base. I was induced at around half 12 after we'd had everything explained etc. TBH I wasn't entirely sure if I'd be staying or sent home, but that was me in the hospital until my daughter was born later that night. I was taken up to the labour ward at around 9pm. Contractions gradually built through the afternoon. They explain that if the labour ward is busy then they might hold off on inducing you, to avoid the labour ward getting too busy. All in all I had a great birth experience at Lincoln 😊

I had an induction at lincoln when I was 39 + 3 for reduced movements. I went in on the Tuesday, they induced me at 11am on the Wednesday, they took the balloon out on the Thursday at 1pm. I then started having contractions at around 3pm and my little girl arrived Friday morning at 1.52am. The staff were amazing. So helpful and everything was explained thoroughly 😊

They tried to put the balloon in, but it wouldn’t go past baby’s head as I was already 3 cm so they went straight to popping in my waters. They explained everything that if I hadn’t progressed or started contractions within four hours then I would be put on the drip. It turns out bless my poor student midwife that she hadn’t done it correctly so they popped my waters again and then put me on the drip all in all. It was a very positive experience. I didn’t enjoy the drip but it was necessary because I’ve gone so long with leaking water.

@Abbie @Tanya thank you both so much for sharing your positive experiences 🥰

@Emma thank you so much for sharing!!x
