Anyone have a toddler who was burned & scarred?

My LG was burned by water the other week & I just feel so terrible that she'll have to grow up/live with such a visible scar down her chest 🥹I need some reassurance that it'll get better.

Some burn scars can become less visible if taken care of properly. It won't ever go away but it can fade if it's moisturized and kept out of the sun. My brother pulled my mom's curling iron off the counter as a toddler. He caught it in his elbow and bent his arm around it instead of dropping it. The scars did grow with him as he got older and they now take up most of his arm but they're very light and you honestly can barely see them unless you're looking for them/know they're there. Teach her to love it. Scars tell stories, she's already a fighter!

@MK thank you for sharing. It's just so hard to accept 🥹every time I look at it, I just get an overwhelming feeling of sadness & anger at my mum for being so careless. Just wish I could go back to that day & stop it from happening but that's not possible.

Your feelings are totally valid! My biggest advice would just be to teach her to love them. I know that seems hard because of the way you feel about how they occurred, but how you treat them & act about them is going to give her the foundation of how she sees herself.

@MK you're so right, I've been trying to be me aware of my reactions to it when getting her dressed, I just hope she can't see the sadness in my eyes when I'm looking at it. I also gave it a kiss too the other day..
