Sleep

Hi all- I’m at a loss with what to do with my almost 3 year old. She has been struggling every night for the last few months with going to bed. We have a night time routine and she always pleads with us to stay up and not go to her bed. She rarely has slept in our bed and we get very little sleep when she has. But always says she wants to sleep in our bed. Every night is filled with so many tears and so much- I want you. I want you. I don’t want to sleep in my bed. She used to be a great sleeper and I’m not sure what’s going on. We’ve tried staying with her in her bed until she’s almost asleep and also till she’s all the way asleep. When she’s all the way asleep she’s still jumpy to make sure we are still there. I kept thinking it would pass but here we are months later and I don’t want bedtime to be such a stressful time for her. Any tips? Or has anyone else dealt with this?

I have to say i have an almost 3 year old as well and lately he’s been having major difficulty with bed time. He’s been on an amazing schedule and never fussed about bed - until recently. Maybe it’s an age thing? I feel your pain. I also just brought home his baby sister 11 days ago.

@Becca gosh I hope so! My heart is breaking that she is struggling so bad with this. It seems like it’s actually progressively getting worse. She had a babysitter put her down this weekend and she was perfectly fine. No tears, no crying.

@Becca I hope you have some relief soon! Congrats on your new baby!!! Our older one had a little bit of a set back when we brought our second baby home too.

they are babies looking for a safety net. I placed a bed (a trifold matress) on the floor on my side of the bed. My almost 3 yr old passes from his room to his bed on my room everyday without waking us up. I think is a happy medium for everyone.
