Contraception question

Okay, little embarrassing to admit but I have a question for the ladies that enjoy their partner cumming inside šŸ™ˆ Iā€™ve always been a combi pill girl but Iā€™m breastfeeding and it affects supply. Almost 7 weeks pp and feeling frisky, we will use condoms but I would love to hear about other birth control mums are using that allows for a messy finish šŸ˜œ

I have a copper iud. Itā€™s ok. More spotting than usual and I can feel it, or just more aware of it, when on my period. But thatā€™s about it.

@Michele if you donā€™t mind me asking, can you both feel it? Is that IUD hormonal? Just worried about breastfeeding. I went back on the pill after my first baby and it tanked my supply. Thanks for replying!

I would add that we want to have another baby in about 2 years. Is the IUD a longer term contraception?

The copper iud is non-hormonal. You can keep it in for up to 5 years I think but can take it out earlier. I had the hormonal one before and took it out after 11 months. I only feel it when Iā€™m on my period, it more feels like a tampon is in. During sexy my bf doesnā€™t feel it at all but my cervix is more sensitive depending on the time of month as it can hurt when he hits it. My doc made the string longer so there is no pokey end.

@Michele thank you so much! Iā€™m going to ask about it this week at the doctor ā˜ŗļø

A warning, if you do decide to use it. Itā€™s so painful getting it put in. It doesnā€™t last but still hurts and take several days to heal from it.

Iā€™ve also had copper IUD twice before. My OBGYN put it in after birth of my daughter and did a nerve block so I didnā€™t even feel it and it was so much better than the first one by a GP. I never had more spotting/heavier periods and couldnā€™t feel it at all

@Fleur regretting not having it put it during my Caesarean now šŸ¤”

I donā€™t know if they can do that? Iā€™m pretty sure I had to wait until like 10 weeks pp because the cramps post birth can be severe and need to heal first but not sure if same for Caesar

@Fleur Iā€™m so jealous. The obgyn said just take Advil. Itā€™s only a pinch. It was so painful!

Oh really? Iā€™ve had it put in without anything by my GP but she was pretty good and just took some nurofen that evening for some cramps. But my OB was def amazing with the nerve block

@Fleur I had 2 out in. Both with no meds. I didnā€™t bother with Advil. Usually does nothing anyways. It was so bad. At least it doesnā€™t last then after itā€™s just some cramping. Itā€™s only the insertion that hurts.

LOVE my copper IUD. The set it and forget it of birth control
