@Michele, yes, that's the word I blanked on. My gyno didn't give me any options but the 2. Maybe I'll have to get a second doctors opinion and ask about that option.
@Ragan My gyno said she would do it but often prefers to wait till someone is older. So maybe that’s why. The pill and iud are the most common treatment. Or if bad enough a hysterectomy. I have the copper iud, so does nothing for my adenomyosis. I seem to remember you can use different types of BCP and they aren’t all 150 a month.
Is the patch an option? There’s generics that could be cheaper. There’s also a birth control shot I tried once but it hurrrrt lol
@Cynthia Maybe. I think it’s the hormones that help it. Maybe ask for different options. I didn’t want to take hormones that’s why we spoke about the burning.
Mine pushed birth control so hard. I said no. I just don’t have sex
I have the implant after I had my last baby at 40. I got the implant in my arm lasts 3 years. Expires in March 2025 I have to get it removed and inserted a new one. It didn't hurt they numb the area when they make incision in arm.
Sad part is I haven't had sex since my last son was born I'm now 41 he is 1 yr old now. I'm also single now broke up with his father. Life is unpredictable so I keep it in my arm.
I’ve had non hormonal IUD and it’s serve me well for 5 years .
With the hormonal IUD my period stopped all together, I do not want it back as I get bad cramps/pms. With the non hormonal, were your periods the same?
@Lesse my non hormonal is somewhat the same except I spot for 3-5 days before my period now. It’s very light spotting. Sometimes only there when I wipe. But apparently the copper iud can cause a lot of bleeding. I think I lucked out with that.
I'm on the 3yr iud but it makes me gain so much weight. I'm scared of trying anything new that will cause heavy bleeding smh. The hormones make me bigger than when I was pregnant.
Im on the depo provera An injection every 3 months I have no issues
@Nuri hope you don’t mind me asking, but did the implant make your period heavier? My doctor has pushed the implant option.
@Rebecca not really. It just made them a bit longer though. But everyone body different. I'm happy with the implant

I just got my nexplanon implant out. It made my cycle lighter but unpredictable, very inconsistent cycles. I did the depo shots ages ago, those stopped my cycle completely. I'm not sure if it's exactly the same now as it was back then tho.
Is it adenomyosis you have? My gyno said something about burning the inside of the uterus to help mine but I’d need my tubes removed. Once it’s burned the periods go away. I can’t take hormonal birth control so that’s why she mentioned that.
