Workout beginner

I just finished a whole body workout today is my first day. I know I’m going to wake up sore because I can already feel it. Should I workout again tomorrow or take a break and work out the next day??

I would say Workout tomorrow, just workout a different body group lol. But since you did a full body, you could either do some cardio to help break up the lactic acid build up (your soreness) or you can do a workout focusing on the body area that’s least sore. Thanks just my opinion, I’m not a fitness expert but I do work out often!

Do a stretch day! Something like yoga would be great!

DOMS generally hit the day after the day after the workout. But if you haven’t done it before, break it up. Maybe take a rest for a few days but then do an upper body Monday a lower body on the Tuesday and rest Wednesday. Then Friday full body. As an example x

If you're a beginner, I would wait until you are not in pain. If you do another workout while sore it will not be as effective and will just be hard work for you. Stretching is a good idea - yoga or pilates. But if you intend to have a daily workout you will need to break the muscle groups up so you have time to heal, as someone else said.

Only stretches. I don’t do another workout when I’m sore. The longer you do it though, you’ll find you’ll get sore less from the same workout so we tend to go harder and faster over the weeks/months. I don’t get sore anymore. But when I started, I did. And only stretched on really sore days. And after awhile the body gets used to it. We need our muscles to heal and recover in between.

What workout are you doing please share ?

I find if I skip the second day the third day I’m more sore, if I workout the soreness starts to ease on the third day. Stretching, yoga or Pilates would be good too as long as the muscles are getting worked.

So decided to do a light workout today arms and core since those are the places where I am not as sore and tomorrow I’ll do leg day hoping the soreness gets better but from what you guys are telling me it might be worse lol.

Might want an Epsom salt soak/bath and take some glutamine and magnesium lol
