It’s considered an elective cosmetic procedure in most cases (unless there is a medical need) and would be an out-of-pocket expense. It was ~$450 in 2021/2022 in the hospital estimates (Northern California KP). We chose not to with my boys for a number of reasons
if you’re ever worried about that, you can always get circumcised through a rabbi. would be cheaper than hospital and they are just as sanitary. doesn’t have to be religious, my mother in law is a holistic doctor and has had tons of people go to rabbis all over the world solely for price. we are jewish so we did it 8 days after for other reasons (vitamin k comes in their system 8 days after they are born) but he healed within a week and all i needed was gauze and neosporin. no infection!!
I’m in Maryland. The mid Atlantic Kaiser coverage. I had my son at the saint Joesph and they did it there. Kaiser said it would be $500 but it didn’t cost me anything. It was fine the baby didn’t bleed. No infection. Pretty decent.
