How many calories depends on many factors such as, age, height, weight, sex, activity level, your goal etc. So use one that has all those inputs or work with a coach for individual help.

https://tdeecalculator.net this is a good one as it includes what the above has said ☺️ I’ve used this before as a few others have given me WAY less, and I was starving whereas this is doable!

I would also highly suggest focusing more on protein intake and eating whole foods over calories. You could eat 1500 calories in pizza a day and that's very different than 4 balanced meals also around 1500 calories. Yes, super common for most people. Understanding the lean protein sources and then cooking them ahead of time can help so you can grab them for snack or lunch (ex. Pre cooked chicken for wraps and salads or egg frittata/mini omelette muffins)
