I try go shopping early afternoon as that when sell buy dates are out or bargin shop, I buy fresh meats from Iceland 3 for a tenner, cheap Asda, lidi adli home shop product on sauces beans noodles and stuff spices in to add flavour. Buck up with veg where can. If u can buy sack of spuds from farmers cheaper and more in. I do set meals too. Get u so get meats from Iceland and make a spag bol ad veg in to make it more filling. Chicken rice peas and sweet corn. Hots dog/sausage chips and beans shepherd pie with frozen veg in more filling, burgers and chips fresh ones. Pasta and tuna is a win top or pasta bake with bit of bacon in it. Can't go wrong with a fish cake or finger sandwich. Sausage casserole with potatoes and beans cheap

I feel like pasta is always the most common budget friendly meal suggestion, if I want to bring the budget down for the week I’ll do a simple tomato or pesto one. Lentil bolognese is good for extra protein and veg. Butternut squash mac and cheese is a good way to get some veggies in. Classic spag Bol or carbonara are also good options. Other than pasta, we often make risotto. Bacon and butternut squash, carrot, or chicken and peas (plus any other potential veg we have in the fridge) are some of our go-tos My toddler is a big soup fan, he’s obsessed with chicken noodle soup (it’s the one meal I know he’ll always eat), he also likes carrot and coriander soup and mushroom soup We also often make a daal with either rice or naan, chorizo and butter bean stew + baguette, Swedish meatballs + mash For most of these meals i usually do a side of veg for extra nutrients and sustenance even if it’s just some frozen peas

Frozen fruit is really good for breakfasts! I usually defrost some the night before and mash it into some supermarket own brand weetabix/porridge/ or shreddies to make a really cheap and nutritious breakfast for my little one. I hope everything is okay! We were pretty skint this month and had an unexpected car repair so we’ve been living out of the freezer and cupboard to be honest! Yesterday we all had spaghetti hoops and toast for tea cause it was all we had before payday today! Keep doing your best it’s awful being skint x
