YMCA

does anybody know how the ymca works? I wanna sign my child up for soccer but don’t really have the money to pay for it… I heard a couple years ago that they will help you pay if you receive government assistance, is there any truth to that ?

You can ask about the financial assistance but I think they give 10-15% off now

You will need to reach out directly to the YMCA you are interested in and apply for financial assistance, is sort of scholarship. Depending on the ymca and the scholarship fund they can cover i believe it is up to 85% of the cost of any of the classes they offer. I apply during the pandemic and this is what I received.

@Laura Marien ohh wow they may do up to 85% ? So what qualifies you ? Cause they said I have to come in and fill out paperwork but I don’t wanna waste my time if I don’t qualify for a scholarship, cause I CANNOT pay in full out of pocket 😩

Basically I just filled out an application, and they allocate base on how much money they actually have to allocate. I will say this might have changed. I only used mine for a limited time, as eventually I didn't need the assistance anymore.
