There’s a few different ways they do circumcisions. It depends on the medical professional’s preference. There’s a method with a laser where aftercare is Vaseline and soft washing. My son had the “bell” where a bell shaped piece of plastic is inserted under the foreskin and had a tie around it. It cut off the blood circulation and the foreskin fell off in 2 weeks. The care for that method is to not touch it. If any poop gets on it, clean it right away but no Vaseline and no washing, just keep it dry. Everything went perfect for us! It’s up to you, ask the medical team what method they plan to do. You’re the parent, it’s your call.
Big no for me personally.
We did it at the hospital, would do again if we have another boy. Not Jewish. My reasoning is cleanliness. 🤷🏻♀️
The only reason it’s best to wait for 7 days is because that’s when the baby has a spike in vitamin k. I am choosing not to get the vitamin k shot
It’s up to you I did it with my son and it was simple and healed within a couple of days!
I didnt do it. I watched videos on how, and I felt so bad. My son is 3, will be 4 in march and we've never had problems with cleanliness or infections at all. Honestly all a personal prefer5
If you’re unsure maybe do some research. It’s a cosmetic thing and not 100% necessary. I have 2 boys and we decided not to. One just turned 5 the other will be 4 soon. We also have not had any problems.
We decided on our son getting circumcised, his pediatrician did it and had us wait in the lobby, he was fine and the healing process was easy.
We made the decision not to have our son circumcised. I tried to do as much research beforehand as possible. Health / hygiene-wise, if you have regular access to clean water & soap, there’s really no increased risk of infection, in which case it ultimately comes down to cosmetics and what you feel comfortable with.
I’m Jewish so obviously I’m going to say do it. But don’t do it at the hospital it’s brutal. Wait 7 days and let a trained rabbi do it
