Don't be so hard on yourself, you tried and couldn't do it and that's ok. Maybe try speaking to a therapist to help find ways to cope on how to fly. I don't drive because I have a phobia of crashing. Everyone judges me and I hate it but I think therapy is what I need.
Your not pathetic my eldest is 9 and we still haven't been abroad. I really want to but I haven't flown since I was pregnant with her so my anxiety over the checking in? Flying and driving in a foreign country scares me. There are so many beautiful places to see that dont require flying. We go to haven with our girls and camping a lot ā¤ļø
Not pathetic at all ā¤ļø. Have you thought of hypnotherapy? It's magical!
You're not pathetic, honestly I hate flying in general and with a baby is way more stress involved. We only traveled with our son to see our parents abroad but I wouldn't go on holiday with him until he's at least 4 or so. First of all babies don't care for holidays and in fact messing with their routine isn't great. Holidays are more for parents when babies are that young, but thing is nonody tells you it will be actually way more stressful than being home. So no, you actually use common sense if you ask me
My lo is 17 months and hasnāt been abroad. I havenāt been abroad since 2019 (my sisterās wedding in Finland). Holidays abroad are so expensive and honestly you can have a holiday that is as good in England.
Is driving an option for you? You can use the eurotunnel or a ferry to get to France and then go where you want to from there! Itās longer but would still get a holiday!
I am terrified of driving, I was learning how to drive but I have such a bad anxiety and shakiness that I know I would have an ecident right away...I can't think and access situation so quick and I always felt like a failure for this

Youāre not pathetic firstly. Many people have this fear- I flew with mine at 4 months and omg Iāve never had anxiety before but I did with him. The minute turbulence hit I was in another world of protecting him. Do you have anyone who can go with you? Even another parent perhaps. When I lived in Ireland I would fly back here for the day- so maybe do it as a day trip like a day out? Itās a short flight and itāll help you ease into it ā¤ļøā¤ļø
