Questions about birth

Did anyone else get the placenta injection in their arm to help them deliver it? I had 2 injections in my arm to aid with this and was also given liquid morphine after giving birth. Both of these things didn’t happen in my previous birth so I’m just curious why. Obviously, I was totally out of it so had no idea what was going on really. Did anyone else have this or can help shed some light?

It’s syntometrine and helps speed up the delivery of the placenta. It encourages contractions and helps stop bleeding x

But I had 2. Online, it says you’re only supposed to have one and in the thigh. Any ideas why?

Ideally your thigh, but it’s given intramuscular and doesn’t actually specify an area, they just like to do the thigh. I can’t comment on the two injections, likely you were given something else as well x

How bizarre. Thank you for your help! ❤️

Yeah I had one in the bed and also morphine at the beginning of labour not at the end
